My wife and soul mate Aileen assists me in my work together we are William Wilson Photography. She is the driving force, the organiser, the critique, the framer and the finishing touches, the person I love most in the whole world not forgetting our daughters Vicki and Sarah xxx .
Most of my work originates from my studio commissions here in Lanark. As a working artist it’s my blank canvas, I paint with light a beautiful light to create my photographs, it’s the result of my life long passion.
When I’m commissioned for a portrait or family photo shoot my goal has always been to create photographs that are more than a simple record, I want to show something of my subjects their personality, a connection with people and that’s why my main subjects are real people. I do have a life long passion for monochrome landscapes and dramatics these are a source of inspiration especially when I’m photographing weddings and newly engaged couples as the two combine beautifully. Passion, is the best way to describe my work, my approach, and my desire to create images for a couple in love.
