Steve and Emma Blow – married at Traquair

S22

It isn’t often you get to have your wedding ceremony in a venue that dates back to 1107, but Steve and Emma decided that in choosing Scotland’s oldest inhabited house was the place to get hitched.

The castle was used as a hunting lodge for royalty and also as a base where they could administer justice, issue laws and hold courts. Later a refuge for Catholic priests in times of terror the Stuarts of Traquair supported Mary Queen of Scots and the Jacobite cause.

The ceremony took place in the Cupid Garden of the grounds of Traquair House a lovely orchard setting for an outdoor wedding.

It was a beautiful day at the wonderful wedding location of Traquair House, with peacocks wandering around the grounds, the orchard setting for the ceremony, Emma and her bridal party all looking so elegant it was all truly romanic, everyone was great especially in the main group photograph where the back drop of the house and Steve and Emma’s families and friends made for a spectacular photograph which is featured on the Traquair House website.
